Opinion: So you want to tax the rich? Okay, let’s start with Harvard.

2021-04-27 Henry Olsen

America’s charitable foundations and billionaire universities hold at least $1.5 trillion in assets. That’s far more wealth than that of Jeff Bezos, Bill Gates, Mark Zuckerberg, Elon Musk and the founders of Google and Oracle combined.

Democrats often criticize these billionaires for not paying their fair shares, but they pay a lot more than these wealthy institutions. Rich universities and grant-making foundations pay a mere 1.4 percent in federal taxes on their net investment income, a fraction of the 23.8 percent rich people pay on their capital gains.

It’s good that a left-leaning publication published a critique of a policy of some Democrats.

Law enforcement, and our legal system, is entirely reactive, not proactive. There is almost nothing law enforcement can do until a crime has been committed. And that’s the way it should be. Further, there is very little the government can do to prevent gun crime because criminals don’t obey the law. The one person ultimately responsible for your safety is YOU. And if you’re an honest, law-abiding citizen and want to personally do something to protect yourself and reduce gun crime — carry a gun.

Kamala goes full commie with video praising “equality of outcome.” Let me show how horrid this idea actually is.

2020-11-02 Joel Abbott

“Equitable treatment means we all end up at the same place,” said Harris, finishing her idea of a utopia on earth.

This all sounds nice. It sounds great on the surface. It doesn’t even sound socialistic to the untrained ear. This language of “equity,” however, drives at a core idea of socialism: the uniform equality of outcome for all people.

U.S. court: Mass surveillance program exposed by Snowden was illegal

2020-09-02 Raphael Satter

(Reuters) – Seven years after former National Security Agency contractor Edward Snowden blew the whistle on the mass surveillance of Americans’ telephone records, an appeals court has found the program was unlawful – and that the U.S. intelligence leaders who publicly defended it were not telling the truth.

Trump admits he ‘often’ regrets tweets, retweets get him ‘into trouble’, in interview with Barstool Sports founder

2020-07-25 Joseph A. Wulfsohn

“Do you sometimes — because I follow you on Twitter and I know I do this… do you ever tweet out and be like — you wake up and, ‘Aw man, I wish I didn’t send that one out’?” Portnoy asked.

“Often, too often,” Trump responded. “It used to be in the old days before this, you’d write a letter and you’d say this letter is very big. You put it on your desk and then you go back tomorrow and you say, ‘Oh, I’m glad I didn’t send it,’ right? But we don’t do that with Twitter, right? We put it out instantaneously, we feel great, and then you start getting phone calls — ‘Did you really say this?’ I say, ‘What’s wrong with that?’ and you find out a lot of things.”

What We Believe – Black Lives Matter

2020-07-11 Black Lives Matter Foundation, Inc

We disrupt the Western-prescribed nuclear family structure requirement by supporting each other as extended families and “villages” that collectively care for one another, especially our children, to the degree that mothers, parents, and children are comfortable.
